Toshin Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Hideki Fujiyoshi)
Our company focuses on the development and supply of Slitting and Rewinding machines used in the electrode plate manufacturing process for storage batteries.
Though we are a small company, we leverage our expertise in automated machinery cultivated on-site refine technologies that enhance manufacturing efficiency and reliability every day.
We share the vision of “Swiftfab” for a “standardized manufacturing system” and continue to strive towards its realization. As a manufacturing model originating from Japan, we will diligently work to contribute, even in a small way, to the advancement of production sites both in Japan and overseas.

Startup to the Joint Project “Swiftfab” aiming to strengthen the Storage Battery Manufacturing Equipment Industry
Battery Association for Supply Chain (BASC) is an industry association comprising 244 companies (as of November 2025) across a wide range of fields, including battery materials, equipment, manufacturing, and services, dedicated to the sound development of the entire battery supply chain. BASC promotes initiatives to address common challenges that are difficult for individual companies to solve alone, in alignment with Japan’s Battery Industry Strategy formulated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the storage battery industry-essential for achieving a decarbonized and digitally transformed society.
The Joint Entity was formed by nine BASC member companies in the equipment sector with the aim of strengthening the storage battery manufacturing equipment industry. Its primary purpose is to advance the Project, which originated from BASC’s task force activities.
There are Seven key challenges identified for the storage battery industry.
This initiative represents significant progress toward addressing one of them “Structural transformation in the storage battery equipment sector “and not only enhance the global competitiveness of Japan’s storage battery industry also demonstrate a new industrial Japanese model to the world.
“Swiftfab” is an industry-first advanced model that brings together the strengths of BASC member companies from various sectors to build a cross-industry manufacturing platform. The Project aims to reinforce Japan’s domestic supply stability and contribute to the realization of the storage battery industry strategy. Rather than optimizing individual companies, the goal is to achieve overall optimization across the industry.
The Project will jointly design and develop buildings, equipment, production systems, and integrated storage battery manufacturing lines, delivering solutions that enable the rapid establishment of high-quality battery production facilities at significantly reduced time and cost.
While BASC maintains a neutral stance, this initiative aligns with its founding purpose of enhancing international competitiveness. Therefore, BASC plans to support this joint venture through coordination on technical standards and international expansion, as well as information sharing with other BASC member companies. Furthermore, the outcomes achieved through this project will be progressively made available to BASC member companies, with plans to expand it as a “collaborative industrial infrastructure.” We expected this initiative will contribute to strengthening Japan's domestic manufacturing equipment industry and building a competitive industrial model originating from Japan.
